Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself Blogfest

Well, so many of you are doing this blogfest, and I must say, they are just too fun.  So I had to join in!
First, and I said this on Krystal's page, but I read "Please allow me to reintroduce myself" and what I hear is the second stanza to the Humpty Dance.

You are SO welcome for that.

So here we go, stuff about me.

Well, I suppose I should start with my name.  I technically don't have one on my birth certificate.  My parents fought over it (my mother wanted Susanna or Ana Lisa; my dad wanted something normal) for 6 months after I was born, when my dad finally relented.  Then 3 years later they bothered to contact the birth certificate records people and have my name put on.   Anyway, with that, I am Susanna.  However, I dislike my name: it's too old fashioned and it's my alter ego of the girl with no self confidence.  So I became Susie.  Which I totally love.  But everyone ends up calling me Sus, thus the blog name.

 This is me.

I can play the piano and I can sing, but not at the same time.

I ran track and cheered in high school.  This is good for two reasons: 1, if chased by the police, I can totally hurtle over fences and 2... Ok, there's only 1 reason.

I never delete emails, so I have 2,000 in my personal email.

I could probably spend an entire day speaking only in movie quotes.  Everyone has to have a super-human talent, mine is memorizing movie lines.  This is good for absolutely nothing in life.

I got my degree in Spanish, but haven't used it in at least 10 years, with the exception of vacations to Spain and Mexico.  I still like to think I'm fluent but I'm totally not. :(

I have two dogs, Benny Blanco and Riley, who rule my house.  Benny only wants to play with toys and Riley just wants to lay on the couch and fart.  He's a stinky boy.
Benny left; Riley right

Finally, I love to read.  Which, I assume you've figured out, what with the whole book reviewing blog and whatnot.

    1. haha. You win. I have no many I have in my work inbox. It just says "showing 25 of many". I assume the many are in the thousands.

Movie quotes might come in handy if I'm on a game show...

  6. Hi. Nice to meetcha, Sus. My name is Susan, but my mother used to call me Sus.

Your dogs are absolutely adorable (but you knew that!) and I'm gonna have to sign on as your newest follower. Not just for the dogs, either. I mean, you can hurdle fences... and you review books! It doesn't get much cooler than that.

  12. Hi Sus. It's great to meet a fellow singer/pianist!
You have a distinct super-human talent... I don't know of anybody else who can deliver entire lines of movie quotes in conversational mode...
You should record it and post it to YouTube. It will probably get lots of hits, so you can't assume it's good for absolutely nothing.

  13. Oh dear, something must be wrong with me, I delete my e-mails a couple of times a day. I can't stand having my inbox full. I only save the necessary stuff. And I am forever emptying the Spam box.

You have so many talents, I love hearing that, singing and playing the piano, Wonderful.

    1. I used to delete my emails regularly, and I got out of the habit and now I'm being suffocated by them! :) I need to clean it out. And my work emai.

I love playing the piano. It's my favorite thing, but I do not like playing in front of other people. The only ones who get to hear my concerts are my husband and my dogs.

  15. Hi, Sus,

Good to meet you.... Love your boys. I am a huge fan of Westies and any terrier really. I had a yorkie and a cairn and will again! They have such feisty personalities.

I have enjoyed reading about writers OTHER talents. I link playing piano is awesome. I always wanted to and will some day. I plunged into the other arts ... drawing, painting, sculpting, illustration, photography, crafting .... I like to keep busy, I get bored easily.

I had to laugh at the email think.... I delete all the time and still have over 4000! I don't get it.... I keep most of my blogger comment emails etc. LOL.

    1. Cairns and Yorkies are so cute. Like you, I am a huge terrier fan, but those Westie faces just do me in every time.

Playing the piano helped me through my tumultuous teenage years, so I'm glad I had the music to lose myself in when I was feeling particularly hormonal. I'm sure my mother appreciates it, too. Now it's just a part of me, as much as writing or reading is.

4000! Now I have a new goal to aspire to! LOL

And thanks - Ben & Ri agree that they are darling. LOL

  17. Hi there! Yes, you never know when some random email might come in handy. What about the cheerleading - would that be useful when you're being chased by the cops?

It''s nice to meet you Sus.

    1. Believe it or not, but all the jumping I had to do for cheerleading made my jumping hurtles in track easier. So yes! That would help me when being chased by chops as well. :)

  18. I know this is from awhile ago, but somehow I ended up missing it then. Sorry!!

I never delete my emails too. I have no idea how many worthless emails I have. haha. And my daughter can speak in all movie quotes too, it's like she has a photogenic memory for them...but she can't remember to do her chores. Weird how that works, isn't it? :)

    1. I'm glad your daughter shares my talent. Maybe one day it will come in handy...

And her not remembering chores is selective memory. :) I can never remember to fill my tank with gas. Go figure.
